BU Graduate Students at Reopening of MFA Greek and Roman galleries
Saturday, December 18th: Join MFA Boston for the much-anticipated reopening of their Greek and Roman galleries.
Admission will be free for the day. Advanced tickets are highly recommended as space is limited.
From MFA.org:
The new galleries of art of ancient Greece, Rome, and the Byzantine empire feature some of the oldest works in the MFA’s collection telling new stories and reflecting our time through the art of the past. With freshly imagined spaces that include natural light, innovative displays, interactive experiences, and immersive evocations of an ancient Greek temple and a Byzantine church, visitors of all ages can learn about the legacies of these ancient cultures and understand their relevance today.
Of special note: In the afternoon; HAA’s Bailey Benson and Liz Neill will be providing gallery talks at 1:45, 2:15, 2:30 and 2:45.
1:45 pm and 2:30pm – Bailey Benson “The Emperor’s New Groove: Constantinian Portraiture” – Gallery 208
2:15 pm and 2:45pm – Liz Neill “Lion, Snake, Fire-Breathing Donkey: Archaic Greek Creatures” – Gallery 213
