Career and Elevator Pitch Workshop

March 30th, 9pm via Zoom

Those with a 30 sec elevator pitch prepared can practice with Dr. Nancy Li and get immediate feedback at the event!

Are you starting in the midst of your job search or trying to prepare to speak to employers at conferences or events? Join us for this collaborative event with Dr. Nancy Li who graduated with a PhD in Materials Science & Engineering from BU and is now an Educator, a Director of Product, and a YouTuber (check out her YouTube channel here) with a passion for helping people land their dream job and break the glass ceiling – she has particular expertise in jobs within the product management space. Mindfulness Offerings from Health Promotion & Prevention Services

4-Week Mindfulness Series (starting March 16th)
Learn how to develop a regular mindfulness practice. By attending weekly guided sessions, students will have the chance to practice mindfulness to help manage stress, promote relaxation, increase focus, and connect with other students. Attend the entire series, or drop in as you like. Students must use their BU email address to register.Mindful Movement Yoga (starting March 14th)
Participate in a yoga practice that combines breathwork with gentle, self-paced movement to encourage calmness and increase resilience when stressed. This class incorporates trauma-responsive principles and practices. Students must use their BU email address to register

Job Postings

Medical Metrics Inc. (MMI) is a fast-growing, independent imaging core laboratory based in Houston, TX. MMI provides image analysis and consulting services to medical device, biologics, and pharmaceutical companies in support of their clinical trials and product R&D. They are currently hiring STEM graduates with Masters or PhD degrees for the two positions listed below.

Client Services Manager (job description here) – Looking for someone interested in both science and business, with a Masters, PhD, or other advanced degree in a technical field. This is a client relationship management role and involves both upfront consulting (scientific) and proposal negotiation (business) aspects. Spine or orthopedic experience preferred.
Postdoctoral Associate (job description here) – This is a 1 year industry postdoc position, with the option of transitioning to a full-time position. The Postdoc Associate will be responsible for scientific consulting activities such as authoring interpretive reports, conducting literature reviews, researching new image analysis techniques, designing experimental studies, etc.
