Zara C. Albright is a former Global China Pre-doctoral Research Fellow at the Boston University Global Development Policy Center and a PhD Candidate in Political Science at Boston University, where she studies global development and political economy, specifically in Latin America’s relationship with China. Her current work examines the politics of China’s large infrastructure investments and related loans, exploring the incentives and tradeoffs facing policymakers in Latin America. Zara was a Summer 2021 Fellow at the Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future. Previously, she researched economic development policies for the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean in Santiago, Chile and studied global development in Uruguay and Argentina. Zara earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in International Affairs from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.
