Dr. Xia Li is a Former Global China Research Fellow with the Boston University Global Development Policy Center. Her research focused on corporate sustainability, with particular attention to how firms respond to climate change through adaptation, mitigation, and the adoption of green innovations. One stream of her work examined firms’ strategies for managing climate-related risks, while another explored the diffusion and uptake of environmentally sustainable technologies. During her time at Boston University’s Questrom School of Business, Dr. Li received several research honors, including the Best PhD Paper Award in 2022 from the UN Principles for Responsible Investment (UN PRI) and Questrom’s 2021 Award for Outstanding Doctoral Research. She completed her PhD at Boston University’s Questrom School of Business, earned a Master of Public Administration from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, and holds bachelor’s degrees in arts, science, and economics from Peking University in Beijing. Before beginning her doctoral studies, Dr. Li worked as a regional associate director at Aon and as a consultant at Environmental Resources Management in Hong Kong.
