Toby Monsod

Dr. Toby Melissa C. Monsod is a Professor at the University of the Philippines School of Economics and Chairholder of the Ruperto P. Alonzo Professorial Chair in Development Economics. She is a Member of the National Technical Panel for the Reduction of Stunting and Malnutrition, Member of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation Expert Panel on COVID-19, Associate of the Financial Futures Center, and Adviser to the Institute of Climate and Sustainable Cities, among others. She previously served as Assistant Secretary of Trade and Industry and Secretary General of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council.
Dr. Monsod is currently a member of the Task Force on Climate, Development and the International Monetary Fund, a consortium of experts working to advance development-centered climate policy at the IMF.
