Rohini Kamal is a Former Global China Research Fellow with the Boston University Global Development Policy Center and a non-resident research fellow with the Global China Initiative. Her research focused on the political economy of climate change, examining the intersections of environmental and economic development challenges across the Global South, particularly in Asia. Her work investigated the environmental and distributional effects of energy financing from Chinese and other major regional and global development institutions. Before pursuing her doctoral studies, Rohini worked at the BRAC Development Institute in Dhaka, Bangladesh, on development policy and research, and at the Urban Climate Change Research Network—a project under NASA/GISS and the Earth Institute—where she contributed to efforts to integrate climate data into urban policymaking.
