Pedro Perfeito da Silva is a Non-Resident Fellow with the Global Economic Governance Initiative at the Boston University Global Development Policy Center. He is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Political Economy at the University of Exeter. He obtained his PhD in Political Science at the Central European University and worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Leeds University Business School.

His research agenda focuses on the challenges that financial globalization introduces for democratic regimes. His current projects cover topics such as the politics of capital flow management, the macroeconomic effects of financial liberalization, the design of cultural and industrial policies and the drivers and implications of financial nationalism.

His articles have appeared in leading academic journals including China & World Economy, Development and Change, Government and Opposition, Review of International Political Economy and Third World Quarterly.
