Margaret Lombe is an Affiliate Faculty Member of the Boston University Global Development Policy Center. She is an Associate Professor at the BU School of Social Work and Co-Director of the Building Refugee and Immigrant Degrees for Graduate Education (BRIDGE) Program program. She is also a Faculty Associate of the Centre for Social Development at Washington University in St. Louis and the Center for Innovation in Social Work and Health.
She advises the United Nations on several global initiatives including measurement of social inclusion/exclusion and UN-HABITAT III, the United Nations Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development. Her research pays close attention to social and economic justice, as well as empowerment and participatory democracy of marginalized communities. Specifically, her research addresses important socio-economic and health issues that impact the well-being of individuals and communities on the margins by employing upstream interventions and system global change.
