Kundan Kumar is a Research Assistant at the Boston University Global Development Policy Center, specializing in applied econometrics, quantitative risk analytics and macroeconomic policy evaluation. He holds a Master of Arts in Quantitative Economics and Econometrics with a concentration in Financial Risk and Policy Analytics from Boston University, an MBA in Finance and Strategy from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow and a Bachelor’s in engineering.

His research leverages advanced statistical modeling, causal inference and Explainable AI frameworks to evaluate macroeconomic trends, multilateral finance and global capital flows. Drawing on extensive institutional leadership experience in financial risk governance and corporate banking—including serving in key analytical and policy roles at the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and as Chief Manager of Corporate Portfolio Strategy at ICICI Bank—his work bridges rigorous econometric theory with data-driven policy analysis to transform complex financial datasets into transparent, actionable insights for researchers and policymakers.
