Kaihui Song is an Academic Researcher for the energy and climate workstream at the Boston University Global Development Policy Center. She specializes in equitable energy transitions, focusing on the intersections of energy systems, global supply chains and environmental justice. Her work integrates large-scale datasets, spatial analysis and econometric modeling to examine how energy transitions reshape emissions, labor outcomes and development pathways across regions.

Her current research examines the global impacts of clean energy investment, with a focus on how international capital flows, such as Chinese foreign direct investment, shape emissions trajectories and economic development in emerging economies. She investigates how these investments influence local industries, labor markets and broader development outcomes, contributing to ongoing debates on green industrial policy and sustainable growth. Kaihui holds a Ph.D. in Geographical Sciences from the University of Maryland and a M.S. in Natural Resources and Environment from the University of Michigan.
