Harry Deng is a Pre-doctoral Fellow with the Global Economic Governance Initiative at the Boston University Global Development Policy Center. He is pursuing a Ph.D. in Global Governance at the Balsillie School of International Affairs, University of Waterloo where he also completed his MA in Global Governance. Harry’s primary research interests are related to the climate-development finance nexus and the post-COVID effort to reform the international financial architecture. At the GDP Center, his work is focused on the political economy of the rechanneling of the IMF’s special drawing rights. Prior to joining the GDP Center, he spent two years within the United Nations (UN) system, including with the UN Institute for Disarmament Research and UN Human Settlements Programme and served on the United Nations University’s delegation to the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4).
