Ray quoted in Clarin Politica

Rebecca Ray, Postdoctoral Fellow at GEGI, was recently quote in a Clarin Politica article titled “La política internacional del kirchnerismo“. 

The article theories the future foreign policy of President-elect of the Argentina government,  Alberto Fernandez, in trade relations with China. International experts indicate that relations between the two nations will increase, but that it will be harder to manage both negotiations with China and the United States under Fernandez’s administration. Ray agrees, stating that the problematic Chinese investments will continue, but not at the same accelerated rate:

“No he visto ninguna indicación de que algo similar pueda suceder”, confirmó a este diario Rebecca Ray, becaria postdoctoral del Centro de Políticas de Desarrollo Global de Boston University, haciendo referencia a la habilidad de Macri de mantener relaciones favorables con ambos países. Y bajo Fernández, las inversiones chinos probablemente continuarán, pero no al mismo ritmo acelerado que en los tiempos de Kirchner, pronostica Ray.

Rebecca Ray is a Postdoctoral Fellow at GEGI. She holds a PhD in economics from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and an MA in international development from the Elliott School of International Affairs at the George Washington University. Since 2013, she has focused her GEGI research on Latin America, including the annual China-Latin America Economic Bulletin series, the book project China and Sustainable Development in Latin America: the Social and Environmental Dimension, and her current project, Safeguarding Sustainable Development in the Andean Amazon.
