Karra presents on measuring women’s labor force participation in East Africa

Mahesh Karra, a core faculty member of the Human Capital Initiative at the Global Development Policy Center and an Assistant Professor at the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, attended the Population Association of America’s Annual Meeting last week in Denver, Colorado to present his research on measuring women’s labor force participation and work in Burundi.  His poster “Reframing the Measurement of Women’s Work in the Sub-Saharan African Context” was exhibited as part of the Fertility, Family Planning, Sexual Behavior, and Reproductive Health Session on Thursday, April 26, 2018. Dr. Karra also delivered his presentation “Consistent Estimation with Deliberate Measurement Error to Protect Subject Confidentiality: An Application to Perturbed Location Data” with co-author David Canning of Harvard University as part of a data and methods discussion session.  Please click here for a copy of the poster presentation.
