Affiliate Groups

As an Affiliate Group member of Boston University, you are invited to join BU’s Fitness and Recreation Center, one of the country’s top university fitness centers. Approved affiliates are eligible to join at current faculty/staff rates. Please see below for more information about eligibility and next steps.

Membership provides you with access to all of our extraordinary facilities, membership services,  a discounted rate for our wide variety of exciting recreation classes, and family programming. We also have locker rooms and saunas for convenience and comfort.

Membership Details

  • Examples of eligible Affiliate Groups are:
    • 660 Corporation Employees on BU Campus
    • Aramark Employees on BU Campus
    • Barnes & Noble Employees on BU Campus
    • Boston Medical Center Employees
    • BU Works Consultants/Contractors
    • Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra staff members
    • Otis Elevator
    • Visiting Scholars
  • If you don’t see your group listed above and want to know if you are eligible, please email Allison Holloway (amhollo@bu.edu) for more information.
  • Proof of eligibility, such as a work ID or a letter from personnel, is required. Send proof of eligibility to fitrec@bu.edu, and you will be contacted when proper permissions have been added to your account. If you do not have a BU kerberos login, you will need to create an account. If you have a BU kerberos login, you will not need to create an account
    • Visiting Scholars should submit their Appointment Letter showing the start and end dates of the appointment, as well as a photo of their BUID.

 

FitRec offers Monthly Recurring plans (available anytime), as well as Annual Recurring and 6-Month Recurring plans which are available during open enrollment periods.

Open enrollment periods occur in June/July (for both 6-Month recurring and Annual recurring plans) an additionally in December/January for 6-Month Recurring plans. 6-Month Recurring and Annual Recurring plans represent roughly 15% and 20% (respectively) savings compared to monthly plans, and provide complimentary access to fall/spring drop-in classes.
