Lynda Rieman

Assistant Coordinator, Dance / Manager, Dance Theater

Lynda Rieman brings over 25 years of experience as a lighting designer and production/stage manager in the field of dance, with much of her career rooted in San Francisco. She has worked and toured with prominent Bay Area companies including Oberlin Dance Collective, CONTRABAND, the Dance Brigade, Theater Artaud, and Joe Goode Performance Group. In 1980, she co-founded Zaccho Dance Theater with Joanna Haigood, a company known for its innovative site-specific and aerial dance works.

Lynda’s passion for aerial dance began at Bard College, where she choreographed works using rope and cloth. After relocating to the Bay Area in 1979 to study low-flying trapeze with Terry Sendgraff, she continued developing her practice in aerial forms such as ropes, bungees, and trapeze. Currently based in Boston, she manages the BU Dance Theater and continues to collaborate with local artists and companies including Kairos Dance Theater, Margot Parsons, and Cambridge Youth Dance Program, designing lights, sets, and rigging. When not in the theater, she enjoys renovating her historic home.
