Aurora Borealis – 12.6.21

The Boston University College of Fine Arts School of Theatre, in collaboration with the Department of Physical Education, Recreation and Dance, presents the 20th annual Aurora Borealis: A Festival of Light and Dance. Aurora Borealis is a vibrant exploration of the relationship between light and form with a focus on collaboration and experimentation, featuring dance and movement pieces by faculty and students. The performances are Monday, December 6, 7 pm and 9 pm. Yo-EL Cassell and Micki Taylor-Pinney are the artistic co-directors. Mark Stanley is the Lighting Design Faculty Advisor; lighting will be designed by Qian Chengyuan, a graduate student in the School of Theatre Lighting Design Program. Lynda Rieman is the Theater Manager.

This year’s concerts will include:

  • Directed Study projects in composition and direction by CFA acting students and dance minors under the advisement of Yo-EL Cassell and Micki Taylor-Pinney, respectively.
  • Choreography performed by students from BU Dance Program classes, including work by Jossie Coleman, dance faculty, for her Afro-Fusion, CardioJazzFunk, and Hip Hop classes.
