CONFIRMATION OF BU AID AND VERIFICATION OF FEDERAL AID

Information you provide on the CSS Profile to establish your eligibility for Boston University need-based scholarship aid and on the FAFSA to establish your eligibility for federal grants, loans, and work-study must be checked against source documents to ensure accuracy.

Confirmation of Eligibility for BU Scholarship Aid

Boston University requires that you file the Profile only once when you establish eligibility for BU scholarship aid. After the first year of University aid the BU Scholarship Assurance provides for the automatic renewal of that award offer. Information about the confirmation process, what documents must be provided to confirm and finalize your tentative BU scholarship aid, and how to submit confirmation documents is available here.

Verification of Eligibility for Federal Aid

The federal government requires that you file a FAFSA each award year to establish eligibility for federal grants, loans, and work-study. Each year the US Department of Education selects certain FAFSA applications for verification. Information about the federal verification process, including how certain FAFSA filers are selected, what documents must be provided to fulfill verification requirements, and how to submit them to BU is available here.
