Major Jackson
Major Jackson is the author of two collections of poetry: Hoops (2006) and Leaving Saturn (2002). He is the winner of the 2000 Cave Canem Poetry Prize and finalist for a National Book Critics Circle Award. He has received critical attention in The Boston Globe, Christian Science Monitor, Parnassus and the Philadelphia Enquirer and he has been featured on NPR’s All Things Considered. His poems have appeared in the American Poetry Review, Boulevard, Callaloo, Post Road, Triquarterly, and The New Yorker, among other literary journals and anthologies. Major Jackson is an Associate Professor of English at University of Vermont and a faculty member of the Bennington Writing Seminars. In 2006-07 he was a fellow at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard University. (2007)
