Geopolitics and Critical Minerals in the EU-Latin American Relationship (11/09/26)

Join us for Geopolitics and Critical Minerals in the EU-Latin American Relationship, a lecture by Roberto Dominguez, Professor of Political Science and Legal Studies at Suffolk University. This event takes place as part of the Center for the Study of Europe’s Decentering Europe Series.

The aim of our Decentering Europe series is to promote a critical understanding of Europe through its complex heritage, which owes its richness to countless contributions from other regions of the world, including Latin America. In an increasingly multipolar world, we believe Europe can only be understood in relation to other sites of socio-cultural production, political engagement, and economic transformation.

Roberto Dominguez’s research focuses on the intersection of global political economy and comparative politics to identify mechanisms to address collective problems. His work has explored comparative regional security governance, security governance in Latin America, European Union-Latin American relations, perceptions of the EU in Latin America, and ideas of peace in the Global South.
