Coffee & Conversation Halloween Edition: Someone Please Stop Me From Voting!

The real scare. I dare you! Say the words that we dare not speak: “don’t vote.”  Why? After all, we don’t care. What’s the point?

An organization is trying to influence the defeat of candidates in the upcoming elections with this ad:

They ask the good question – why continue to let politicians take you for granted? Voting — real power? Real choices?

Nothing new in the video, my man, W.E.B. DuBois — a legit, smart public man with a huge following — called the question years ago.

So the politicians are pulling out the stops to get you in the booth. You in? Can an American of good conscience participate in the election process? Can you be a good American and not?

This Friday (October 29) let’s talk about what motivates you to vote (or not).  We’ll meet in the Howard Thurman Center from 3- 5 p.m. I’ll bring the coffee, cookies, and voter registration cards.  You bring your thoughts.
