Abstract: The Big Data Scientist Training Enhancement Program (BD-STEP) is an opportunity offered through the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) that uses data science to advance healthcare research and patient care. The VHA is America’s largest integrated healthcare system, providing care at nearly 1,300 health care facilities and serving 9 million enrolled Veterans each year. Unlike other healthcare organizations which are often fragmented among different clinical domains, the Veterans Affairs electronic health record captures longitudinal clinical patient data – covering long periods of health and illness. BD-STEP provides an avenue to access the rich and diverse data available in the VHA. Join us to learn more about the program and opportunities to collaborate.
