Product & Application Security College Co-Op

We are currently seeking a Product Security College Co-Op Student to join our Security & Resiliency team for either the first semester (September through December 2018) or second semester (January through May 2019) of this school year. This role will be based out of our Hopkinton, MA office and work closely with colleagues throughout Dell as they aim to build secure products and solutions for our customers.

This Co-Op Student role will assist the Proactive Secure Development group with many program management and technical activities, such as interfacing with developer, QE and technical program managers to help them implement security controls in their product. This role may also involve programming so scripting languages background is needed.

Responsibilities
• Interface with developer, QE and technical program managers to help them implement security controls in their product
• Work with Product and Application Security staff, engineering and support organizations to triage and respond to security vulnerabilities, escalations and inquires
• Assist engineers in driving their open vulnerabilities to closure
• Publish and maintain security knowledge base articles across various Product and Application Security programs
• Generate operational reports
• Manage against defined process timelines and requirements
• Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement
• Research and investigate solutions to improve the capabilities of the team through automation and tooling
• Acquire and maintain a working knowledge of security-related technologies, security vulnerabilities, and secure development practices
Requirements
• Current graduate or undergraduate student in a technology-related discipline
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Exposure to general software development and information security concepts
• Ability to dialogue with engineering at a reasonable level of technical depth
• Ability to prioritize tasks and deliverables and manage dynamic priorities
• Analytical and reporting skills
• Working knowledge of scripting languages, such as Python or PHP
