Research
Groundbreaking scientific research. State-of-the-art facilities. Cutting-edge technologies. Boston University is a top global research institution, attracting $326.5 million in sponsored program awards in FY2015. Seventy-four percent of the $326.5 million BU received in FY2015 came from the federal government. Another 12 percent originated in government grants and flowed to BU through other sponsors, and the rest came through alternate sources such as grants from foundations and support from private industry. Our work pushes boundaries, improves lives, and bolsters the city’s status as a research hub.
