Boston University Tanglewood Institute boasts a remarkable roster of internationally recognized faculty and guest artists. Students also have various opportunities to meet and work with members of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, as well as attend master classes given by artists and instructors engaged by the Tanglewood Music Center.

Learn About Our Guest Artists
BUTI’s unique relationship with the Boston Symphony Orchestra offers students the opportunity to meet and work with world-renowned guest artists, including BSO musicians. In addition, students are invited to a selection of master classes and question-and-answer sessions given by artists and instructors engaged by the Tanglewood Music Festival and Tanglewood Music Center, as well as upon special invitation from BUTI. Such luminaries in past summers have included Dawn Upshaw, Yefim Bronfman, Yo-Yo Ma, Anne-Sofie Mutter, Iman Habibi, Joshua Bell, and many others.
BUTI also engages additional guests as Visiting Artists and Visiting Faculty who are in residence for longer periods. Visiting Artists work with multiple programs and Visiting Faculty are in residence with a specific program.
