David Schulenberg

David Schulenberg is a music historian and performer on historical keyboard instruments. In addition to books on the music of J.S. Bach and his sons W.F. and C.P.E. Bach, he is author of the textbook Music of the Baroque and has produced critical editions of compositions by J.S. and C.P.E. Bach. Among his many journal articles are essays on Elizabethan keyboard music and on Froberger, Telemann, Haydn, and Mozart. His CD recordings on the Naxos, Hungaroton, and Brilliant Classics labels include first recordings of chamber music by Quantz, J.G. Graun, and King Frederick “the Great” of Prussia. Recent performances include recitals for the Boston Clavichord Society and the three C.P.E. Bach piano quartets for the Society for Historically Informed Performance (available on YouTube). His book on historical performance practice in Baroque music will be published by Boydell Press.
