BU CDS Welcomes Erin Murdock

This past summer, CDS welcomed Erin Murdock as our new Financial Manager.

Erin, a self-proclaimed lover of spreadsheets, will apply her talents to “ensure all CDS faculty, staff, and general operating accounts are regularly updated to help enable accurate forecasting,” she says. “I want to ensure our budgets and projections are readable and dynamic documents.”

Erin is a familiar face around campus, as she spent a large portion of her career working towards the betterment of BU. BU’s School of Law, Student Activities Office, College of Engineering, Sargent College, and the College of Arts and Sciences have all had the pleasure of working alongside her in a number of dynamic roles that extend beyond finance. “I’ve been able to find outlets to incorporate that experience and my background in DEI work into a lot of my roles at BU, which I am grateful for,” she explains.

She’s already acclimating to her new position and forming connections, exemplified by her training and running a half marathon with some friends and coworkers also from CDS and CAS CS. “Our faculty is so remarkable, and our students are the future of CDS — it’s exciting to be a witness to all of this,” she says.

Erin earned a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and Gender Studies from Mount Holyoke College. She also holds a certificate in Queer, Trans, and Sexuality Studies. Expect Erin to turn her tassel again soon, as she works towards a Master of Business Administration from Questrom School of Business. Even more impressive — this would make her a “double terrier” as she has already received her Master of Education from BU's Wheelock College of Education and Human Development.
