Avanade Data Science Undergraduate Ambassadors and Fellows Program
Avanade was created as a joint venture between Accenture and Microsoft and has a mission to enable young people (especially young women) to achieve more through the power of our people and digital innovation.
They seek to make a genuine human impact by inspiring the business and technology leaders of the future with a focus on the future digital workforce, and in particular the diversity of that workforce.
Partnering with CDS, Avanade is recruiting students for two opportunities:
Avanade Fellows - Students will participate in mentorship, Microsoft technical training and certification, and internship opportunities offered through the Avanade STEM Scholarship Global Network.
Avanade Ambassadors - This is a paid position and students will be compensated $2500 per semester for up to 4 years. Ambassadors are expected to:
- Actively participate in the activities organized within the Avanade STEM Scholarship Global Network.
- Be engaged with assigned Avanade mentors and buddies.
- Attend one or two events each semester at Avanade’s Boston office or virtual ones.
- Attend Avanade’s annual Fuel Innovation, Leadership, and Technology (FUEL) conference for one week (all expenses to be paid by Avanade).
- Consider completing one summer internship at Avanade.
- Provide regular updates and share successes with the Director of Academic Programs in the Faculty of Computing & Data Sciences and Avanade.
- Make themselves available to help and peer-mentor more junior students selected as Avanade Ambassadors or Fellows.
- In collaboration with CDS, at the end of the first academic year for which they received the award and the final academic year for which they received the award, participate in the creation of a short video highlighting how this ambassadorship helped them realize their goals.
