BU Makes a Statement with New Building

Boston University’s newest addition to campus, the Center for Computing and Data Sciences, has been touted for its design, both environmentally and architecturally. The decade-long, $300 million project runs entirely free of fossil fuels and has earned the title of Boston’s largest all-electric building. 

The building, which has gained a reputation for its likeness to a stack of books, is a large step towards BU’s goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2040. BU President Robert A. Brown described the project as a statement.
