We’re finally getting a weekend of warm weather, so grab your friends and get outside to celebrate. If you’re staying in town instead of going home for Easter or Passover, we have a great lineup this weekend, perfect for movie lovers, artists, and fans of cultural experiences.

Religious Services

Marsh Chapel is celebrating the Easter holiday and BU Hillel is celebrating the Passover holiday with several special services, including religious vigils and meals. See the full lineup for Easter here and for Passover here.

2026 Visual Arts Thesis Exhibitions

Support College of Fine Arts graduating students in many of the college’s MFA, BFA, and BA programs—including graphic design, sculpture, print media and photography, painting, visual narrative, art, and art education—while their theses are on display around campus. Just as in a real art museum, these showcases allow the BU community to enjoy and interpret the soon-to-be-grads’ work up close.

Exhibitions run through April 18 at the BU Art Galleries; find the full lineup here.

Redstone Film Festival

For more than 30 years, the College of Communication department of film & television has been proud to host the Redstone Film Festival, recognized as one of New England’s premier student showcases. The event highlights the most accomplished work from undergraduate and graduate students. Over the years, some of the festival’s finalists and winners have gone on to become among the most successful filmmakers in Hollywood. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to see the next big director here at BU.

Friday, April 3, 7 to 10 pm, Tsai Performance Center,  685 Commonwealth Avenue. Register for your free ticket here.

BU Connections in The Drama

Go to see A24’s The Drama, filmed just steps away from the BU campus. Starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, the dark comedy deals with a bride-to-be sharing such a scandalous secret with her fiancé that it threatens the wedding.

Tickets on sale now. Find showtimes here.

Wicked Queer Film Festival

This local LGBTQ+ film festival starts this weekend. Founded in 1984, Wicked Queer is one of the world’s longest running queer film festivals. It’s an all-volunteer event that empowers queer stories and queer voices in and around Boston. Films include Living in Pryde, a documentary short about New England’s first LGBTQ+ affordable senior housing community, and At the Place of Ghosts, a film by Native American filmmakers about healing from a traumatic childhood.

Runs through April 16. Find locations and showtimes here.
