Lent, Holy Week, and Easter at Marsh Chapel

Purchase an Easter Lily

Each year, members of the Marsh Chapel community are invited to dedicate a lily in remembrance of a loved one or in honor of a living friend or relative as a part of our Easter celebrations. Orders for lilies are now open and will close on March 29th, 2026 (Palm Sunday).

If you would like to order a lily, please complete a form for each individual lily you would like to dedicate. If you choose, you may take your lily home with you following our Easter Sunday services on April 5th, 2026.

Palm Sunday, March 29, 2026

11:00AM* (Sanctuary) –  Traditional Sunday Morning worship service featuring a processional of palms and special music.

Holy Wednesday, April 1, 2026

5:00PM (Robinson Chapel) – Ecumenical Tenebrae Service led by The Rev. Dr. Karen Coleman including the Eucharist liturgy, followed by dinner.

Maundy Thursday, April 2, 2026

6:00PM (Sanctuary) – Service featuring music and preaching from one of our Ministry Associates from the Boston University School of Theology.

Good Friday, April 3, 2026

12:00PM-3:00PM* (Sanctuary) – A special service surrounding the seven last words of Christ on the journey to the cross. The Marsh Chapel Choir performs an extend piece of music interspersed with readings and meditations by our chaplaincy staff and other religious leaders. Participants are encouraged to come and go as they are able or stay for the entire service.

The Vigil of Easter, Holy Saturday, April 4, 2026

7:30PM (Robinson Chapel) – Our annual Easter Vigil service offers space for meditation and contemplation before the celebration of Christ’s Resurrection. New Members are also welcomed and baptisms are often performed in accordance with Christian traditions.

Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026

7:30AM (BU Beach) – Easter Sunrise Service – This brief service led by our student ministry assistants includes hymns and a short Easter Morning reflection from one of our School of Theology ministry associates.

9:00AM & 11:00AM* (Sanctuary) – Traditional Sunday morning worship featuring special music from the Marsh Chapel Choir and Majestic Brass and an Easter Sermon from The Rev. Dr. Robert Allan Hill, Dean of Marsh Chapel. The 9AM and 11AM services are identical, with the 11AM service also being available via Livestream.

A Special Celebratory Easter Brunch is available to all in the Lower Level of the Chapel from 8:00AM-11:00AM.
