Why should I go?
The Cambridge Art Association is giving a platform to up-and-coming artists from all around New England, with its 2021 Emerging Artists Exhibition. The show includes more than two dozen paintings, photographs, and sculptures, all available for purchase.
The Cambridge Art Association was founded in 1944 and has served as a hub for local artists and art lovers ever since. Today, the nonprofit has two gallery spaces, as well as several less traditional satellite spaces, where they regularly host exhibitions, educational programs, and events aimed at facilitating dialog about art and creativity.
The juror for this year’s exhibition is Erika b Hess (CFA’09), a painter whose work has been exhibited nationally and featured in numerous publications. She helped cofound the Musa Collective, a group of local artists seeking to provide an alternative to conventional gallery space by bringing people together to exhibit and share ideas. She also launched the podcast I Like Your Work, which features various artists, curators, and collectors. Additionally, she writes for the ALL SHE MAKES magazine. As juror, Hess will select the four winners of this year’s Juror’s Choice Award, which includes a $100 cash prize and a yearlong membership to the Cambridge Art Association.
Note: Masks are required upon entry for those planning to visit in person.
