Looking for experienced writers, deadline of May 1

If you are an experienced writer or photographer, BU Today would like to hear from you.
We are seeking two upperclassmen or graduate student interns to come on board as general assignment writers. Candidates should have strong writing skills, published clips, and be able to make a yearlong commitment. These paid positions begin in September and run through mid-May and require 10 to 12 hours a week. Responsibilities include pitching and writing stories about student life, restaurant reviews, and student profiles. Helping staff writers with background research, transcribing audio, close-captioning videos, and assisting with breaking news stories may also be needed.
We are also looking to hire an experienced upperclassman or graduate student sportswriter for the 2017–2018 academic year. Candidates should have extensive experience covering club and varsity athletics and must demonstrate an ability to write engaging, well-researched profiles of student athletes and coaches, previews of athletic events, and other sports-related stories and has to be able to work 10 to 12 hours a week.
Note: previous journalism experience and clips are a must for applying for the writing internships. Class assignments will not be considered.
In addition, BU Today is looking for a multimedia-website production intern to work 10 to 12 hours a week for the academic year beginning in September. Responsibilities include taking photos, assisting with website content management, and multimedia/design projects. This position requires someone who can build and publish news articles in WordPress, build slideshows, search Creative Commons and public domain websites for photos, and transcribe audio. Candidates must have experience with Adobe Photoshop and WordPress or another content management system and must submit a portfolio to be considered. Very strong attention to detail is essential.
As well as writers and a multimedia intern, we are looking for a detail-oriented calendar production intern to work 10 to 12 hours a week, starting in August and continuing throughout the academic year. This student would oversee administration of the BU events calendar. Training will be provided. Tasks include reviewing new events submitted to the calendar and ensuring that all required information has been included; troubleshooting, approving, or deleting events as necessary; updating calendar events to add or edit event information; and monitoring emails sent to a dedicated calendar email address and responding as necessary. Emails from calendar users may relate to technical issues, event information updates, and other issues.
The deadline for applying for these paid positions is Monday, May 1. All positions pay $11.25 an hour.
