YouSpeak: Binge TV Viewing
Why it’s hot
One of the funniest moments in the opening number of last week’s Emmy Awards telecast had emcee Neil Patrick Harris feverishly attempting to binge watch every episode of every TV series at once.
The moment underscored a serious truth: Netflix, Amazon.com, HuluPlus, HBOGo, and similar platforms have revolutionized the way we watch our favorite shows. In a recent Harris poll, 62 percent of respondents said they had watched multiple episodes of a show in one sitting. Yes, it’s a trend, but is it a good trend or a bad trend?
This week’s “YouSpeak” asks: “Do you binge watch?”
“YouSpeak” typically appears each Monday.
