10:10 PM 9006243 3/24/2009 Tue Alpha ROBBERY, UNARMED c265 S19 BEACON ST & BLANDFORD Public Property STAIRWELL
Officer Ciaran D’Arcy responded to meet with the victim of a past robbery. Upon arrival he met with the victim who stated that at 10:10 PM he was at the stairs that lead down from Beacon St to Blandford St when he was mugged by two Hispanic males. The victim stated that he talking on his cell phone walking down the stairs when a Hispanic male passed him on the stairs. The Hispanic the male turned around and started following him down the stairs. There was another Hispanic male at the bottom of the stairs and when the victim reached the bottom of the stairs the male at the bottom pushed him back into the male party behind him. The victim struggled with the two suspects and in the process had his cell phone knocked from his hand. The suspects attempted to get the victim’s backpack but were unable to. The victim stated that both suspects were wearing hoodies one light colored and one dark.

Officer Antoine Ramos was dispatched for a report of a past larceny. Upon arrival he met with the victim who stated that at 8:00 PM she placed her backpack underneath a table located in the mailroom. The victim then went to dinner leaving the backpack in the mailroom and when she returned at 11:00 PM, she discovered that her laptop was missing from the backpack. There are no security cameras in the mailroom. The victim stated that her Apple Macbook was valued at $1200.00.

Officer Brian Abdallah responded for a report of a past larceny. Upon arrival he met with the victim who stated that her wallet was stolen from a room where employees keep their personal belongings between 9:15 PM and 9:30 PM. The victim reports that her wallet, $15.00 cash, BU ID, OR driver’s license, Citibank Master Card, Bank of America ATM card and Oregon Credit Union Visa card were taken.
1:00 PM 9006052 3/22/2009 Sun Alpha LARCENY UNDER $250 c266 S30 915 COMMONWEALTH AV Athletic Facility LOCKER ROOM
Officer Ciaran D’Arcy was dispatched for a report of a past larceny. Upon arrival he met with the victim who stated that $40.00 cash was stolen out of his locker between 1:00 PM and 2:40 PM. The victim stated that he had $80.00 in his wallet and when he came back to his locker he discovered the money was missing. The victim further stated that his locker was locked during the time of the incident. There was no sign of any damage to the lock or locker. The victim stated he had some money and a T-pass stolen from his locker on 12/7/2008. The victim stated that there is one person in the locker room who he believes might have taken the money. He is described as a white thin male, in his late twenties with dirty blonde hair. The victim stated that this party was present for both incidents.
11:30 AM 9006038 3/22/2009 Sun Alpha LARCENY UNDER $250 c266 S30 855 COMMONWEALTH AV Academic CLASS ROOM
Officer William Campanella was approached by the victim of a past larceny. The victim stated that between 11:30 AM and 12:00 PM her wallet was stolen from room 165. The victim had left the room unattended with the door open at the time of the theft. Officer Campanella contacted the B&G Area Supervisor and the building custodian and advised them of the theft. They then checked trash cans and other areas for the victim’s property with negative results. The victim stated that her wallet, $20.00 cash, MA driver’s license, Bank of America debit card and 5 personal checks made out to the victim. At 2:30 PM Officer Campanella and the custodian were approached by a small child who stated that there was a wallet in the toilet of the first floor men’s room. Upon checking the bathroom they found the victim’s wallet containing only the personal checks. No other property belonging to the victim was recovered at this time. A further check of the adjoining areas to the bathroom and trash cans was made with negative results. The wallet and the personal checks were then turned over to the victim.

Officer Michael Vanaria was dispatched for a report of an intoxicated male party. Upon arrival he met the victim who appeared to be intoxicated and was unable to stand on his own. Samaritan Ambulance responded and transported the victim to Boston Medical Center for evaluation and treatment.

Officer Jeffrey Kotkowski was dispatched for a report of an intoxicated female party. Upon arrival he met with the victim in the 4th floor, lobby area. After speaking with the victim it became obvious that she was intoxicated due to her slurred speech and glossy eyes. The victim reported consuming an unknown amount of beer. Housing security officers stated that they observed the victim to be extremely unsteady on her feet and being held upright by a friend as she entered the security area. Samaritan Ambulance responded and transported the victim to the Boston Medical Center for further evaluation.

Officer Michael Vanaria was dispatched for a report of an intoxicated male party. Upon arrival he met with housing security officer Bob Colbert, who stated that the victim entered the building and was unsteady on his feet and appeared intoxicated. Samaritan Ambulance responded and transported the victim to Boston Medical Center for further evaluation and treatment.

Officers William Campanella and Din Jenkins were dispatched to the 4th floor lobby area for a report of an intoxicated female party. Upon arrival they met RA Daphne Norvin who was tending to the victim. The victim was visibly impaired and unable to stand. The victim’s boyfriend stated that they were returning from a party at an unknown BU fraternity house in Allston. Samaritan ambulance responded and transported the victim to the Boston Medical Center for evaluation.

Officers Rich Cabral and Dan DiGiovine were dispatched to the food court for a disturbance call. Upon arrival they met with the reporting party who stated that the staff was having a problem with a male party. Officers then heard a loud verbal disturbance and observed a female employee yelling and physically struggling with a male party who had taken food items. The male subject was then placed under arrest for shoplifting, trespassing and resisting arrest.

Officer Din Jenkins and William Campanella were dispatched to the 12th floor women’s bathroom for a female passed out. Upon arrival they met with RA Didi Pathak who stated that there was a female passed out on the floor in a stall of the bathroom. Officers observed the victim who was completely unresponsive. When the victim finally regained consciousness she stated that she had been drinking several shots of tequila, mixed drinks and beer at an unknown fraternity house off campus. Samaritan Ambulance responded and transported the victim to

CARLTON ST & MOUNTFORT ST Public Property SIDEWALK
Officer Vincent Noga observed several Brookline units stopped along with a Boston Fire truck at Carlton and Mountfort St. He was informed by Brookline Police officers that several minutes earlier a group of males were victims of an A&B and that the victims were Boston University affiliates. Brookline PD further informed Officer Noga that possible suspects were being interviewed and detained for identification at Park Dr and the Riverway. Two of the victims refused medical treatment while the third was transported to Beth Israel Hospital by Fallon Ambulance for treatment. Officer Noga went to Park Dr and the Riverway to assist Brookline PD, but the suspects and Brookline PD were gone on arrival. At 3:15 AM Officer Noga went to Beth Israel Hospital for a follow up of the incident. Officer Noga metwith the victim who stated that the incident occurred while he and his friends were walking to 10 Buick St from Lansdowne St. He stated that as they passed a group of 3 white males, 1 black male and 2 female parties, the two groups exchanged words, and the suspects then ran back and began to assault them. Officer Noga was unable to interview the victim that was transported earlier as he was being treated for a separated shoulder and heavily medicated.

Officer Matthew Quinlan was dispatched to the Foundation Lounge, for a report of a past larceny. Upon arrival he met with the Club Manager and the Club Owner who reported that they were approached by the victim at 1:30 AM who stated that her pocketbook had been stolen from inside the club. The victim had left her pocketbook unattended on the thin island bar near the main bar. At 1:21 AM an Asian male is seen on the video surveillance taking the pocketbook. The victim reported that an LG flip phone, valued at $250.00, a black wallet, valued at $25.00, a canon digital camera, valued at $250.00, $250.00 cash and car keys were taken.

Officer Antoine Ramos responded to meet with the victim receiving annoying phone calls. Upon arrival he met with the victim who stated that on 3/13/2009 at 1:57 AM she received a voice mail message from an unknown male. The victim stated that during the message the suspect knew her full name and made several derogatory remarks about her. The victim also stated that the suspect should erase herself from the planet. The duration of the voice mail message is 1 minute. The victim states she has not received any more messages since then. The victim was advised to maintain a phone log if she receives additional calls or messages from the subject.

132 CARLTON ST Residential ROOM
Officers Edward Shea and Diane Smith were dispatched for a B&E alarm. Upon arrival they met with Tony Lagrutta and the victim who were in the driveway. Officers then entered the residence and observed a black male party walking down the stairs. Officers placed the suspect under arrest and requested additional units to search the building for a possible second suspect. A subsequent search of the residence and surrounding area turned up no other suspects. The suspect was transported to the station and booked for B&E Felony. After booking the suspect, he was taken to Brookline District Court for arraignment. At the time of arrest the suspect was in possession of $1040.00 US currency, £115 pounds sterling, British currency, DM490 German currency, ₣80 French currency, coin currency from
various countries, and various personal papers and items.

Officer Matthew Quinlan was dispatched for a report of an attempted B&E. Upon arrival he met with the reporting party who stated that on 3/10/2009 at 8:00 AM discovered pry marks in the door to apartment 1F. The suspect did not gain entry to the apartment. The reporting party further stated that the unit has been unoccupied for about 2 months.

Officer Eugene Smith responded for a report of a stolen bicycle. Upon arrival he met with the victim who stated that he left his bicycle locked to a lamp post in front of the building on 3/02/2009 at 6:00 PM with a U-Lock. When he returned on 3/16/2009 at 5:00 PM he found the bicycle and the lock missing. The victim reports that his Iron Horse mountain bike was valued at $250.00.

455 PARK DR Residential APARTMENT
Officer Rick Camillo responded for a report of an attempted B&E. Upon arrival he met with the occupants of apartment #3, who stated that sometime between 1:00 PM on 3/7/2009 and 10:30 AM on 3/15/2009. The suspect attempted to pry open their apartment door leaving pry marks along the edge of the door. Both parties stated that the apartment was undisturbed and nothing had been removed. A check of the door revealed pry marks just above the door knob. A check of the other apartments in the building revealed similar marks on the door of
apartment #4. Detective Christopher O’Shea responded and took photos of the doors to apartments 3 and 4. The parties further stated that they had been having problems with the inner vestibule door, which would occasionally get stuck in the open position, making in unnecessary to use a key to gain entry. Assistant ORL area director Maggie Swada was on scene and made aware of the safety issues to the building and stated she would be contacting Facilities Management.

Officer Edward Shea was dispatched for a report of a male party breaking into a vehicle. Upon arrival he met with the reporting party who stated that he observed a white male smash the passenger side window of a parked vehicle and took an unknown item from it and fled out bound Commonwealth Av. Several units checked the area for the suspect with negative results. Officer Shea then met with the owner who stated that his Garmin GPS was missing from his vehicle. The victim reports that his Garmin GPS was valued at $150.00.

Officer Matthew Quinlan was dispatched to meet with the store manager about the unauthorized use of a BU Terrier Card. Upon arrival he met with the manager, Alan Linick who stated that he was informed by the victim that someone was using her Terrier Card. The Terrier Card Office informed Linick that between 2/09/2009 through 2/27/2009 her card was used without her authorization. Approximately $100.00 worth of transactions were made on the card. The Terrier Card Officer reimbursed the victim for the unauthorized charges.

Officer Vincent Noga was dispatched for a report of an intoxicated female party. Upon arrival he was met outside of the 1st floor ladies bathroom by the RA, who stated that the intoxicated female was inside. The victim was conscious and alert, exited the bathroom and stated that she was attempting to clean her coat which had been vomited on by another person while she was at MIT earlier this evening. The victim had impaired speech and glassy eyes and stated that she had consumed alcoholic beverages earlier in the evening. Samaritan Ambulance responded and transported the victim to Boston Medical Center for treatment.

Officer Anicet Dybantsa was dispatched for a report of a motor vehicle which was missing its tires. Upon arrival he observed a motor vehicle with all four tires and rims missing. He met with the victim who stated that he secured his vehicle on 3/13/2009 at 4:00 PM and discovered on 3/14/2009 at 8:30 AM that someone had removed all four wheels from his vehicle which had been locked and secured. The victim further stated that nothing else was missing from the vehicle. The victim stated that the value of the missing rims and tires was

Officers William Campanella and Din Jenkins while on walking patrol were approached by William Ganier, Construction Supervisor for CBC Construction. Garnier stated that he had arrived for work at 4:55 AM that a window on the basement rear side of the building had been broken by unknown means giving access to the building. Ganier further stated that he had not entered the building. Sergeant Robert Casey, Officers Brandon Stone, Jeffery Kotkowski and Paul Devlin responded to the scene and secured the perimeter of the building. Officers Campanella and Jenkins then conducted a building search for possible suspects with negative results. After conducting the building check for any suspects, Ganier accompanied officers into the building, at which time he stated that it appeared that nothing was
taken from the building. Ganier stated that he left the building secured at 5:00 PM on 3/9/2009. The building is under rehab construction by Ganier’s Company. He further stated that he would conduct repairs to the window to secure the building.

Officer Joseph Sirignano responded for a report of a past B&E to apartments #9 and #10. Upon arrival he observed that the doors to apartments 9 and 10 had been forced open with an unknown tool or instrument. There were extensive pry marks on the door frames and doors to both apartments. The dead bolt locks on both doors had completely separated from the door itself. Apartment 10 was vacant, but apartment 9 was occupied, however, the resident was not at home. A check of the interior of apartment 9 showed that a dresser drawer located in the bedroom was opened. It appeared that the contents had been gone through. It was undetermined if anything belonging to the resident was taken. Officer Sirignano checked the glass entry door just inside the vestibule and observed that the security strike plate cover was bent and the inside latch handle was very loose and missing the top screw.

Officers Scott Rocheville and Jacob Verge were dispatched for a report of a past larceny of a bicycle. Upon arrival they met with the victim who stated that she locked her bike, with a cable style lock, to a bike rack on the side of the building at about 1:30 PM. When she returned at 4:30 PM she discovered that her bicycle was missing. The victim was unable to provide a make, model or serial number of the bicycle and estimated the value at $80.00.

Officer Melissa Lombardo responded for a report of an intoxicated female in the 4th floor lobby. Upon arrival she met with the victim who was having trouble speaking coherently and had an odor of alcoholic beverage coming from her person. Boston EMS responded and and transported the victim to Beth Israel Hospital for further evaluation.

Officer Kevin St. Ives was dispatched for a report of a motor vehicle that had been struck. Upon arrival he met with the reporting party who stated that he had parked his mother’s vehicle at a metered parking spot at 9:45 PM. When he returned to the vehicle at 11:10 PM he noticed damage to the passenger’s side of the vehicle. The damage extended from the rear quarter panel to the front quarter panel.

Officer Eugene Smith was dispatched for a report of a past larceny. Upon arrival he met with the victim who stated that he arrived at the gym at 6:30 PM and placed his personal items in one of the cubbyholes provided by the gym. The items were not secured in this area. When the victim returned at 8:00 PM he found his wallet and his cell phone missing. Officer Smith spoke with the FitRec staff who stated they had the suspect on a recording taking the items. A review of the video indicates that at 6:39 PM a white male wearing a dark sweatshirt, jeans, white red sox baseball cap and carrying a white shopping bag, went to the front desk and spoke to one of the members of the staff. Officer Smith asked the staff members what he wanted but they replied that the staff member that talked to him had left for the night. The suspect is on the recording taking items out of the hole and putting them in his shopping bag. The suspect is then seen leaving the building at 6:42 PM. The victim called and cancelled his credit cards and found that one card had been used to make purchases at the City Convenience at 957 Commonwealth Av and City sports at 1035 Commonwealth Av. The victim reports that his wallet, valued at $30.00, HTC Dash cellphone, valued at $200.00, $30.00 cash, VA driver’s license, BU ID, Sun Trust Visa card and Bank of America debit card were taken.

532 COMMONWEALTH AV Commercial STORE
Officer Antoine Ramos entered the Seven-Eleven convenience store and observed the store clerk physically struggling with a male party. Officer Ramos observed that the clerk was preventing the male party from leaving the store. Officer Ramos spoke with the clerk who stated that the suspect had attempted to exit the store without paying for foods items he had concealed in his jacket. He observed the suspect placing a Reese’s Peanut Butter Egg inside the right sleeve of his jacket. During a search of the suspect Officer Ramos found the item in the right sleeve of his jacket. The suspect was placed under arrest for shoplifting pursuant to M.G.L 266/30A. During booking the suspect was found to have in his possession a pipe and container commonly used for smoking marijuana. No marijuana was visible in the container however it was secured into evidence along with the merchandise.

Officer Ron Gately was dispatched to take a report of a past larceny of a bike. Upon arrival he met the victim who told me he had locked his bike to the rack at 3:00 PM and discovered it was missing at 9:30 PM. The victim did not know the make, model or serial number of the bike. The victim reports that his bike was valued at $400.00.

908 BEACON ST All Other Locations BASEMENT
Officer Peter McCarron was dispatched for a report of a past B&E. Upon arrival he met with B&G custodian Jose Antunes who stated that when he entered the basement level he discovered that the rear door to the Boston Book Annex and two mechanical room doors had been forced open. Antunes reports nothing missing from the mechanical rooms. Officers Diane Smith and Rick Camillo checked the apartments in the building and found no forced entry to any of the apartments. A check of the Boston Book Annex was done and it was unknown if anything was taken. The store manager of the Boston Book Annex was contacted and responded. He checked the cash register and a money
box under the cash register area and it was determined that no money was missing and that nothing from the store was missing. The Boston Book Annex does not have an alarm system or security surveillance cameras. Detective Ryan arrived and processed the scene by photographing the damage to the three doors. B&G was notified of the damage and they would respond to repair the damage.

765 COMMONWEALTH AV All Other Locations OFFICE
Officer Joseph Sirignano responded to suite 1220 for a report of a past B&E. Upon arrival he met with the reporting party who stated that at about 8:59 AM she discovered that the top left drawer of her desk appeared bent outward at the top. She examined it and found that someone had forced the locked drawer open. She also stated that she observed a small amount of blood on the drawer front and on several items inside the drawers. A faculty member stated that she was the last to leave the suite at 6:30 PM and found that the main door was not secure. She further stated that when she left at 8:30 PM she did not secure the doors. The reporting party states that $23.00 in cash was taken. A check of the other offices indicated that nothing else was disturbed.

Officer Dan DiGiovine was dispatched for a report of a past larceny. Upon arrival he met with the victim who stated that her cell phone was stolen from her coat while she was working in lab # 160 sometime between 7:30 PM and 8:30 PM. The victim said that she initially hung her coat on the rack but later found it on a lab desk, checked her pocket and discovered the phone missing. The victim further states that on 2/28/2009 at 5:30 PM her roommate received a cell text message from the stolen phone. The victim then called the stolen phone number and a female answered when she inquired about the sent text message and who she was talking to and the person identified herself. The victim states that she is a lab classmate at and was present in the lab on day of theft.

Officer Ron Gately was dispatched for a report of a past B&E to a motor vehicle. Upon arrival he met with the victim who stated that her vehicle was parked in the rear alley between Sunday 3/1/2009 at11:00 AM and Tuesday 3/3/2009 at 9:00 AM. She further stated that someone entered her vehicle and rummaged through her front center console. The victim reports that nothing was taken. She also stated that the doors sometimes do not lock.

580 COMMONWEALTH AV Residential DORM ROOM
Officer Joseph Sirignano responded for a report of a party being scammed. Upon arrival he met with the victim who stated that on explained that on 2/6/2009 she had placed an add on Craig’s List regarding the sale of her snowboard priced at $520.00. At 1:17 AM she received a response to her add via e-mail. He informed her that he would send her a check for an amount of $2465.00 for the snowboard and requested the victim to deduct the cost of the item and send the difference to a party in New Jersey. The victim cashed the check at the Bank of Boston in Kenmore Square and later sent the remainder of the money via Western Union on 2/17/2009, as requested by the buyer. Later on that week, the bank notified the victim that the check she had deposited was not good. The bank then held the victim responsible for the money. On 2/24/2009, the victim was again contacted by the suspect who requested that she be the recipient of another check for the amount of $2300.00. Officer Brandon Stone was dispatched for a report of a past larceny. Upon arrival he met with the victim who stated that on 2/27/2009 while at a BU fraternity party in the Ashford St area, her purse was stolen. The victim further stated that she knew and had been in contact with the party that took her purse. The victim stated that while at the party, she put the purse on a table and several minutes later the purse was gone. On 3/1/2009 at 8:27 AM received a phone call from a named Mike, who stated that he found her purse on the evening of the party and wanted to meet in person to give it back. Mike further stated that he wanted the victim to take the Green line to the Red line, and get off there. Feeling uncomfortable, she asked Mike to meet her outside of Noodle Street to get her property back. The victim stated that the purse was a small back purse valued at $15.00, and it contained her NJ driver’s license, health insurance card, BU ID, $5.00 cash and her dorm room key. On Wednesday March 4, 2009 at 10:45 from the victim who stated that she was just was just contacted by a person who is known to her as Mike and who she has identified as the person who had her stolen property. Detective Lieutenant Ford advised her that he would pick her up in front of her residence. Detective Lieutenant Ford and Detective Ryan met with the victim who received a phone call from the suspect and made arrangements to meet at 595 Commonwealth Ave. At 11:05 AM the suspect arrived and parked in front of the building. At this time detectives approached the suspect and identified themselves as police officers. The suspect was in possession of the victim’s stolen property which the victim identified. When the suspect was asked for identification and he responded that he had identification, but refused to show it. The suspect began to act very nervous and gave the appearance that he was going to flee the area. He continued to back up, and refused to produce identification and began raising his voice, causing a crowd to gather and creating a disorderly scene. He was then placed under arrest for disorderly conduct and continued to resist officer’s commands. During the arrest the suspect stated that he was on parole for armed robbery and would be sent back to jail. The suspect was placed under arrest for Receiving Stolen Property and Disorderly Conduct.

Officer Christopher Zengo was dispatched for a report of a past larceny. Upon arrival he met with the victim who stated that he left his winter jacket in a cubby on the 1st floor 6:28 PM. When he returned at 7:28 PM he discovered that his jacket had need taken. The victim reports that his North Face winter jacket, valued at $300.00, Apple iPhone, valued at $600.00 and his BU ID were taken.

Officer Antoine Ramos was dispatched for a report of an intoxicated male party. Upon arrival he met with RA who stated that he heard a loud noise coming from the men’s bathroom. When he went in he found the victim had locked himself into a bathroom stall and would not exit. After contacting the police department the victim had gone back to his room. Upon entry to the room Officer Ramos observed the victim lying in bed and conscious. The victim’s speech was slurred and he stated he had an unknown amount of alcohol earlier in the evening. Samaritan Ambulance responded and transported the victim to Boston Medical Center for further medical evaluation.

Officer Jack Struble was dispatched for a past larceny report. Upon arrival he met with the victim who stated that Sony VAIO laptop was taken from the study lounge in the basement. The victim stated that he and his girlfriend were in the study lounge at 1:30 AM watching a movie when they fell asleep. When they awoke at 10:00 AM he discovered that the laptop computer was missing. The victim reports that his Sony Vaio laptop was valued at $2500.00.

Officer Anicet Dybantsa responded for a report of an intoxicated male in the 4th floor lobby. Upon arrival he met with housing security officer Rick Mariano who stated that the victim struggled to swipe his card, had difficulty standing, his speech was slurred and he detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverage emanating from his person. Samaritan Ambulance responded and transported the victim to Boston Medical.

Officer Antoine Ramos was dispatched for a report of an intoxicated individual in need of medical assistance. Upon arrival he met with RA Rose BUSS who stated that as she was entering the building she observed the victim leaning against the building unable to maintain his balance. According to BUSS the victim was being assisted by another party. Officer Ramos observed that the victim was conscious, his speech was slurred and he was unable to hold head up. The victim stated that he had consumed 7 to 13 shots of whiskey. Samaritan Ambulance responded and transported the victim to Beth Israel Hospital for further medical evaluation.
