Throughout the summer, we’ll be republishing some of our favorite stories and videos from the past year. This week, we bring you four videos from our series, Leaders Among Us, where BU President Melissa Gilliam talks with University community members about what makes a successful leader and other topics.
In the latest installment of our video series Leaders Among Us, Boston University President Melissa Gilliam speaks with Gary Arthur, BU Dining Services director of residential operations. During their conversation at Marciano Commons, Arthur talks about what it takes to feed approximately 12,000 students three times a day and how his department supports the dining needs of individual students. Gilliam asks him to describe his leadership style, as well.
“I’m a facilitator of humans doing great, great, stuff,” he says, adding: “It’s always just about bringing people together with food in the middle of it.”
