The Huntington offers $27 tickets for next two productions Wednesday

(BOSTON) –The Huntington Theatre Company will offer $27 tickets to early performances of its next two productions, “The Corn is Green” and “Two Men of Florence,” in a One Day Sale on Wednesday, December 17. Tickets will be available online, by phone, and in person at two Box Office locations.
“We have been holding similar sales for the past two years, but we are particularly proud to be able to offer cost-conscious arts patrons who are grappling with the challenging economic climate an opportunity to enjoy the world-class theatre we provide at a very low price,” says Huntington Director of Marketing Temple Gill.
Discounted tickets are available for January 9-16 performances of “The Corn is Green” and for March 6-13 performances of “Two Men of Florence.”
“The Corn is Green,” Welsh playwright Emlyn William’s heartwarming classic about an inspiring teacher and the power of human connection marks former Artistic Director Nicholas Martin’s return to the Huntington. He will reunite with acclaimed actress Kate Burton, last seen in the Huntington’s production of “The Cherry Orchard,” who will play teacher Miss Moffat. Burton’s son, Morgan Ritchie, will play the student whose life she transforms. “The Corn is Green” will play January 9 – February 8, 2009.
“Two Men of Florence” is celebrated historian and JFK speechwriter Richard N. Goodwin’s epic drama about Galileo, Pope Urban VIII, and the age-old struggle between reason and faith. Edward Hall, associate director of London’s National Theatre, directs. The Huntington’s American premiere production will play March 6 – April 5, 2009.
The $27 tickets will be on sale online at huntingtontheatre.org from 9 a.m. until midnight. From 12 p.m. until 6 p.m. the discounted tickets can be purchased by phone at 617-266-0800 or in person at the Huntington’s Boston University Theatre Box Office, 264 Huntington Avenue, and the Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA Box Office, 527 Tremont Street.
