BU bands vie for championship at Saturday’s Battle of the BU Bands
The showdown starts on Saturday as Boston University musicians battle it out for the title of BU’s Best Band. Round one of the competition begins at 9 p.m. in BU Central; contestants can sign up in advance by e-mailing bucentrl@bu.edu.
Scheduled performers include the Novel Ideas, First to Seven, Pray for Polanski, Kings of Push, David Tanklefsky, Adrian Kerwin, David Kouskoulas, Force Fed Lies, Forest Henderson, Alan Zuruwa, and the Man and the Clown.
All bands must have a member who is currently enrolled as a student at Boston University. Each band will perform two or three songs, and the audience will choose the top bands to advance to the final round, on Thursday, April 24.
The winning band will headline its own show at BU Central and receive a prize pack from the Guitar Center, gift certificates to music stores, and free studio recording time.
Doors open at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, and the event begins at 9. All BU Central events are free with a BU ID. For more information, visit the Web site.
