Construction Management & Technology Programs

Offered online and on campus, BU Metropolitan College’s Construction Management & Technology graduate programs sit at the crossroads of two urgent global trends—the digital transformation of a multi-trillion-dollar construction sector and the acute need for tech-savvy project leaders. Its distinctive blend of AI, digital-twin labs, certification alignment, and leadership development positions graduates of the program to solve today’s productivity and sustainability gaps—and to define what Construction 5.0 leadership looks like tomorrow. According to McKinsey Global Institute, to keep up with GDP growth the world will need to invest an average of $3.7 trillion in global economic infrastructure—annually— through 2035. Meanwhile, the US Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act allocated more than $550 billion in new spending through 2026, and the US Bureau of Labor Statistics forecasts that jobs in construction management will see much-faster-than-average growth of 9 percent through 2033, with annual median pay exceeding $100,000. Additional construction needs will arise from rebuilding efforts in the aftermath of natural disasters and conflicts.

BU Metropolitan College’s Construction Management & Technology curriculum aligns with the Project Management Institute Construction Professional (PMI-CP)™ certification, an industry standard that positions you for career advancement in project, program, and portfolio management within construction and infrastructure sectors.

Successful Construction Management & Technology program candidates have at least two years of working experience, a bachelor’s degree or the equivalent, and an upper-division GPA of 3.0 or higher. There are substantial case studies and project discussions in class. We welcome early- or mid-career professionals who want to advance up the job ladder, as well as mid-career, built environment and infrastructure industry professionals who want to reinforce their technical management knowledge. By emphasizing sustainability and digitalization in construction while developing the appropriate leadership and communications capabilities, as well as expertise in safety standards using modern technological tools, the MS in Construction Management & Technology prepares you for the future of the industry.
