Pennart Klanwari and Ben Torruella (both MS candidates in Supply Chain Management) were among the 24 students who earned their Six Sigma Green Belt in December 2021. The green belt designation is awarded to students who pass the green belt examination taken at the end of the AD 734 (Quality Management) course. Students who also passed the AD 605 (Operations Management: Business Process Fundamentals) course were awarded the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. The Council for Six Sigma Certification (https://www.sixsigmacouncil.org/ ) approved the awarding of this credential by BU-MET after review of AD 734 course content and the green belt examination. It is a credential that many firms appreciate because it confirms that its holder can assist an organization by analyzing and improving the quality of their business processes. The other students who earned their Green Belt in December 2021 were Claire Ding, Yanfei Feng, Jennifer Fu, Wenqiang Gao, Nick Gong, Andrea Guedan, Liwei Huang, Haonan Kou, Florence Li, Yu Miao, Ray Ran, Nauman Savul, Tong Shen, Steven Wang, Xin Wang, Clara Wang, Ningyi Yang, Tina Yang, Yue Yin, Ju Zhao, Ivy Zhao, and Xiangjiang Zheng.
The AD 734 course is required for supply chain management students and it is a popular elective course for students in other majors. So far, 152 MET on-campus and on-line students have earned the green belt designation.
