Applied Business Analytics Faculty Member Roman Rabinovich (MET’15) Honored with Award at Commencement

During Commencement 2019, the Roger Deveau Part-Time Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching was presented to Administrative Sciences faculty member Roman Rabinovich. Named in memory of MET faculty member Roger Deveau, the annual award goes to a part-time teacher who best exemplifies excellence through mastery of the subject, a distinguished professional record, the ability to convey knowledge and experience to inspire students in their quest for learning, and a demonstrated commitment to the mission of Metropolitan College and its students.

Rabinovich hits all those marks. In addition, as vice president of business development at Eventige Media Group—a Forbes Top 100 Global Ad Agency—he brings unique industry experience to courses such as Business Analytics Foundations (MET AD 571), which he helped create. And, he understands the power of BU MET’s Master of Science in Applied Business Analytics (MSABA) program.

“From my perspective, the most important factor that distinguishes BU MET’s programs in Applied Business Analytics is the element of working through problems as they would be explored in reality,” he explains. “My job entails working with business intelligence, technical, and creative teams to evaluate current B2B markets and market segments for potential revenue- or profit-generating opportunities. I am in the position to make up-to-the-minute updates to lectures so that changes in the industry can be brought right into the classroom within a few days.”

The award-winning teacher credits his students for the honor: “My main source of inspiration comes from the students who have completed the Applied Business Analytics program. Students graduate from the program and go on to achieve new career goals, and successfully complete interviews with their desired organizations. I regularly get emails from students who let me know that the material they learned, as well as the assignments that they have completed, gave them everything they needed to enter a new position in a new company or move to a new role within their current organization.”
