STH Certificates

The School of Theology (STH) offers certificates in:

• Anglican & Episcopal Studies
• Evangelism
• Faith & Ecological Justice
• Music Ministry
• Religious Education
• Spirituality Studies
• Theology & Latinx Studies

Certificate courses may be taken by any student, and concurrently as part of other STH degree programs.

Four of the certificates (Evangelism, Music Ministry, Religious Education, and Spirituality Studies) are designed to meet the academic requirements stipulated by the United Methodist Church for certification in each area. United Methodist students are eligible to be certified through annual conference boards of ordained ministry after completing the academic courses for certification and fulfilling the additional church and personal requirements. The School of Theology documents students’ specialized academic work by giving them a letter of completion.
