Advanced Clinical Medicine 2
GMS PS 798
The Advanced Clinical Medicine 2 course address several specific areas of need for PA students that are not presented in the Principles Integrating Science, Clinical Medicine and Equity (PISCE) 1-7 courses including specific populations of patients, clinical procedures and preparatory skills needed for clinical rotations. Students will learn about the epidemiology, disease pattern differences, and therapeutic considerations of a variety of conditions previously studied in PISCE 1-7 courses. Clinical procedures related to the practice of medicine will be taught and practiced using simulation. This course will continue to develop the clinical reasoning skills of the PA student that was first introduced in the Clinical Practicum course. These topics prepare students for clinical rotations to care for patients across the life span and to participate in the care of patients in the clinical year.
