Undergraduate Prerequisites: (CASMA123) or consent of instructor for students concurrently taking MA 123. ; Undergraduate Corequisites: (CASMA124 OR CASMA127) - Calculus-based introduction to basic principles of physics, emphasizing Newtonian mechanics, conservation laws, and thermodynamics. For science majors and engineers, and for premedical students who seek a more analytical course than CAS PY 105/106. Interactive, student-centered lectures, discussion, and laboratory. Carries natural science divisional credit in CAS. Effective Fall 2018, this course fulfills a single unit in each of the following BU Hub areas: Scientific Inquiry I, Quantitative Reasoning I, Critical Thinking, Teamwork/Collaboration.

Students should reserve Mondays 8:00-9:45pm for up to 6 exams per semester. Please make sure to sign up for AS and MA course or lab sections that do not conflict with the PY evening exams. If you are unable to register for your section, you must enroll for the waitlist through MyBU Student. There cannot be ANY time conflicts with your courses, even with exam blocks. The waitlist system will not enroll you in the course unless a seat is available in each section you request and that there are no time conflicts. Please only sign up on the waitlist for the exact section you are looking to be registered into. If you have any questions or trouble with time conflicts, please go directly to the Registrar at registrar@bu.edu.
