Introduction to Korean Literature (in English translation)

This course provides a broad overview of Korean literature, focusing on love, marriage, and family. Viewing these as ever-changing cultural institutions, this course asks what roles Korean literary texts have played in reproducing or challenging socially sanctioned modes of intimacy. No prerequisites; readings and discussion in English. Effective Fall 2018, this course fulfills a single unit in each of the following BU Hub areas: Aesthetic Exploration, Global Citizenship, and Intercultural Literacy.
