Explores the history of Jewish life and culture on the Iberian Peninsula from Roman times through the expulsion of the Jews in 1492(Spain) and 1496 (Portugal), and the subsequent flourishing of a Sephardic global diaspora into the present day. Effective Spring 2026, this course fulfills a single requirement in each of the following BU Hub areas: Historical Consciousness, The Individual in Community, Teamwork/Collaboration.
