This course highlights the overlooked histories of Jews from Arab world, exploring their communities across the Middle East and North Africa, tracing coexistence, exchange, and displacement, and examining how modern Mizrahi identities reshape belonging, memory, and Arab–Jewish cultural connections. Effective Fall 2026, this course fulfills a single requirement in each of the following BU Hub areas: Historical Consciousness, 3.Research and Information Literacy, Writing-Intensive Course.
