Archaeology of Africa

Africa holds the world's longest archaeological record. This course introduces the history of Africa through an archaeological lens, tracing developments from the earliest hominins to the growth of cities, towns, and global connections on the continent. Effective Fall 2026, this course fulfills a single requirement in each of the following BU Hub areas: Critical Thinking, Global Citizenship and Intercultural Literacy, Historical Consciousness.
