This course examines how migration shapes and is shaped by legal status, economic precarity, and racialized and gendered marginalization. Students explore borders, citizenship, and sovereignty while considering the ethical and methodological challenges of studying movement and immobility within and across territorial boundaries. Effective Spring 2027, this course fulfills a single unit in each of the following BU Hub areas: Social Inquiry II, Teamwork/Collaboration, The Individual in Community.
