GDP Center Co-Hosts 23rd NSE International Development Forum in Beijing, China
The GDP Center co-hosted the 23rd New Structural Economics (NSE) International Development Forum in Beijing, China with colleagues at the Institute of New Structural Economics at Peking University. The forum titled “Opportunities and Risks for Renewable Energy Finance in the Belt and Road Initiative and Beyond” took place on Friday, June 1, 2018. Simultaneous interpretation was provided in Chinese and English.
Justin Yifu Lin, Dean of the Institute of New Structural Economics and Professor at Peking University, provided the opening remarks. Kevin Gallagher, GDP Center Director and Professor at the Frederick S. Pardee School at Boston University, chaired the opening session titled “Global Opportunities for Renewable Energy Finance.”
Members from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), the National Bank for the Foreign Trade (BANCOMEXT), the French Development Agency (AFD), the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), the OECD’s Development Co-operation Directorate, the Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific (ADFIAP), the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the China New Energy and International Alliance (CNEIA), the China Development Bank, the China-Africa Development Fund, and Greenovation Hub participated in the forum.
