Quick Start

Available to: Faculty, Staff, Departments

Cost: No charge

Broadcast email messages are those sent by individuals, organizations, and departments within Boston University to a large segment of the University community, such as faculty, staff, students, alumni, and parents. To prevent such mass communications from becoming “spam,” broadcast email must be reviewed and approved according to University policies.

Benefits

Broadcast email facilitates mass distribution of approved messages to large segments of the BU community (and to non-BU addresses, when applicable).

Key Features

  • Your target audience may be broad, such as all faculty, or limited to a smaller segment, such as students within a single college.
  • Mailing lists with non-BU email addresses may be able to utilize an alternate broadcast mailing system to improve deliverability.
  • Information on formatting HTML messages is provided.
  • Detailed guidelines, policies, and sending procedures will walk you through the process.
